Tape Release 5/28/19
Tape Release Tuesday, May 28th, 2019
The Company has polled for Sales and Service techs to work out of Town in the Gloversville and Northville territories. The assignment begins today and ends on Saturday June 1st, with the understanding that an extension is a possibility. While some in our ranks think we shouldn’t be helping other territories, the Union views it as an opportunity to help our own members. “Workers need work” and we need all the work that we can get right now.
Last week, the Election Committee held meetings for Unit 5 and 7 for positions to the Local’s Executive Board. The following members were elected to serve for the next two years. Unit 5 West: Mike Sutphen as Chair and Bill Peacock as Vice Chair, Unit 5 East: Steve Spector as Chair and Rob Krupcznski as Vice Chair. Unit 7 Stewards: Bruce Cotton as Chair and Ryan Bills as Vice Chair. There are no other scheduled elections to take place this year.
The annual retiree Ray Kanis picnic is coming up on Wednesday, June 12th at noon. The location is the Harris Whelan Park, 2126 Penfield Rd. directly opposite of Wegmans. I’m guaranteeing sunshine and 70 degrees, cost is $5. Come out and laugh and spend a few hours with some old friends.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge Nancy Arena-Diliberto, who is retiring on May 31st. Nancy was hired in 1980 as a Level II Clerk and is retiring with over 38 years of service, most recently she has spent many years as an engineering clerk. Thank you, Nancy, for being an active Union member over the years.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape, the place where we’re Union and Proud of it.
