Membership Announcements:
The Union held a call with labor representatives from Frontier about the change in workers comp carriers from Zurich to Sedgwick. As it was relayed to us, the only change in policy is Sedgwick will be the new carrier on all new claims after June 1st, any former claims incurred by Zurich will continue to be handled by them. The reporting of a claim will be the same process.
We have also been notified that CWA and Verizon NY have agreed on an enhanced military leave absence which extends benefits and pay offsets for thirty six months. Frontier is in the process of interviewing candidates for Sales and Service positions in which 7 offers have been made and 2 accepted so far. The Company will be filling 13 full time positions and 7 temporary positions.
The Union will be making available 150 tickets to members and retirees for the Red Wings game on July 3rd at 6:05pm. Each family will be allowed a maximum of 4 tickets, and any additional tickets will be $13.00 each. Also, a reminder that the Flavin Scholarship applications deadline will be July 15th.
