    Tape Release 9/30/26


    A reminder that tomorrow is a Union activity day for the entire membership. The election committee will be calling for nominations of your officers to be elected for a new three year term beginning January 1, 2027.  Also, on the agenda will be information regarding our transfer to Verizon/NY contract beginning January 1st and information concerning Verizon letter to end traditional phone service.  

    In addition, I’m saddened to announce the passing of the following retirees.
    On behalf of the Union I want to extend our condolences the the family and friends of the following.

    Bobby Moorehead passed away on September 21st at the age of 85.  Bobby retired in 2006 as a telecom specialist with 35 years of service.  A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 2nd.  A viewing will begin at 10am and service at 12pm, at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

    Bruce Bugbee passed away last night at the age of 80.  Bruce was in the Union for almost 30 years and was an active steward.  Bruce went to management in May of 1998 and was a respected foreman as well as Manager.   He is the father of current splicer Steve Bugbee.  The following arrangements have been announced.
    Calling hours will be held on October 5th from 4-7Pm, at the Johnson Kennedy funeral home, 47 N. Mains St. Canandaigua, NY,  followed by a funeral service on October 6th at 11am at the same location.

    James Cutter passed away on September 29th at the age of 91.  Jim retired in 1988 with 34 years of service and was a PBX tech at the time of his retirement.  No arrangements have been announced.
