Tape Release September 11, 2017
I’m saddened to announce the passing of our Union Brother Tom Brinkworth. Tom passed early this morning unexpectedly. I don’t have any other details at this time. Tom was a Sales and Service tech assigned to Air pressure at W. Henrietta Rd and had 19 years of service with the Company. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Lisa and family at this time. The tape will be changed when we have details of the arrangements. A special thank you to his co-workers in air pressure for their response and efforts in attempt to revitalize Tom. He will be missed greatly.
There are still some available positions open for the Retirement Income Planning Seminar being hosted by The Summit Federal Credit Union this Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm at 100 Marina Dr. Today is the final day to RSVP. Please call the office with details.
Last Thursday the Union held an informational session with members interested in volunteering to leave. I can say with a great deal of certainty the Company will have eight volunteers and nobody will be involuntarily laid off. The deadline to submit an application to is this Friday. We would expect to hear from the Company early next week in regards to how many and from what job titles are going to be accepted.
Deadline is this week to get your tickets for the clambake. Tickets are available by calling the Union Hall. Members, retirees, and spouses are $30 and all others are $60. We’ve had a great response from the retirees so far.
And finally today is the 16th anniversary of the 9-11 terrorist attack that took so many lives. Over 15 CWA MEMBERS LOST THEIR LIVES ON THAT DAY; MOST WERE EMPLOYED AS FLIGHT ATTENDANTS. Please take a moment of silence to remember those who passed including the many brave men and women first responders, police officers and fire fighters who gave their lives trying to save others.
