Tape Release December 21, 2017

Tape release Thursday December 21, 2017

The Union held an information session last night for those who may be interested in leaving from the affected job titles targeted for force reduction.  I think there is confusion that the severance is open for the entire membership which is not true.  Only employees in the titles targeted for reduction are eligible for the enhanced severance and they are as follows.

Sales and Service techs          12

Network Tech’s                       12

Cable Splicers                         6

Communication Coordinator II’s         1

And Communication Clerks    1

Paperwork must be into the Company by 11:59pm Thursday December 28th.

The office will be closed tomorrow and Monday for the Holidays, reopening on Tuesday.  Although the office is closed tomorrow I will be in until noon to answer anyone’s questions.

On Wednesday night the United States Senate passed a 1.5 trillion dollar corporate tax bill that will negatively impact working families for generations to come.  Should we believe that this is going to benefit the American Worker, when the same politicians haven’t agreed to pass an increase in the minimum wage for 18 years and continue their assault on Unions who fight to collectively bargain on workers behalf.  Who would be such a fool to think so.

On behalf of the officers, executive board and office staff Marge and Angela, I want to wish all our members, retirees and families a Merry Christmas.  I also want to keep our newest members in our thoughts and prayers as the force reduction at Frontier weighs heavily on all of our families this Holiday season!

This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape, the place where we are Union and proud of it.
