Tape Release 9/17/19
I want to thank those members who came out to picket in solidarity with our brothers and sisters from the UAW on strike at General Motors. The UAW has called for the largest strike in the United States since 2007 with over 50,000 members on strike. The President of the UAW locally has thanked me for the support.
I’m requesting that the executive board of our Local attend the picket line at 1000 Lexington Ave. from 4:30-5:30pm tomorrow before our executive board meeting. We will then proceed to the Union Hall to conduct our business.

The UAW is conducting 24 hour around the Clock Pickets. No Local 1170 member is to cross their lines and do any work at the Lexington plant. If you do, you’ll be brought up on charges. If you get assigned a repair or order you’re to call the Union Hall and we’ll advise you what to do.
I’m also asking for every member every week to walk for an hour to support these workers. Their fight is our fight, we all face the same issues.
I want to thank Mark Semrau, Bruce Cotton and all the volunteers for making our clambake on Sunday an enjoyable day. Special thanks to member Mark Ferrara who was the winner of the 50/50 and donated half the proceeds back to the Union. We will be using that money to help support the strikers at the UAW.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape, the place where were Union and proud of it.
