Tape Release 9/30/24
Membership updates:
Bargaining is set to resume with Frontier this Friday. In the Unions opinion the announced Verizon takeover of Frontier has changed the scope of negotiations. We’ve asked the Company to consider an extension to be in line with Verizons contract with CWA in NYS which the Company has no interest in. We will be moving forward fighting to protect what we have.
We’ve been notified that Open Enrollment with Frontier will be from October 23rd thru November 7th. This is the only window that you have throughout the year to make changes to your benefit elections. There have been no changes to the health insurance offerings. The employee contribution amount is 23% of what the monthly cost of the coverage that you choose, the Company also provides credits to buy one times life insurance coverage and provides STD coverage at 50% of your wages at no cost to you. The monthly premiums for the Frontier Select plan have increased by 5.7%, so you’ll see increases to Single coverage by approximately $12/mo. and Family coverage at $28/mo.
Employees and Retirees who were participants in the Global Crossing 401k lawsuit in the early 2000’s have been receiving checks in the mail for dollars that were not distributed at the time of settlement in 2004. These amounts are nominal between $25 and $150 and have been arriving beginning last week. We have no list of who’s entitled to any money, so if you received a letter in the mail, please follow the directions. If you did nothing a check was supposed to be mailed to you.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union Tape.
