If the last couple of days of high temperatures is any indication of how hot are summer is going to be, everyone needs to be aware daily of the symptoms of Heat Exhaustion vs Heat Stroke.  Symptoms of either that go unnoticed can lead to serious health issues very quickly.  An attachment is enclosed for your benefit.

Heat exhaustion symptoms include the following:

  • Faint or dizziness
  • Excessive sweating
  • Cool, Pale and clammy skin
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Rapid or weak pulse
  • Muscle cramps 

Heat Stroke symptoms include:

  • Throbbing headache and confusion
  • No Sweating
  • Hot, red, dry skin, body temp over 103
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Rapid, Strong Pulse
  • May lose consciousness

The Company has advised us that they may be forced into working technicians by inverse seniority if they do not get more volunteers to work Monday July 5th.  We are discussing the issue tomorrow with the Company and will post an update with relevant info.

And lastly, we are saddened to announce the passing of Retiree Larry “Bill” Robinson.  Bill retired in 1995 with 37 years of service as an IR tech.  On behalf of the Union, I want to extend our condolences to Bill’s family and friends.
