Tape Release 3/18/19
We have sent an email out to all members at your home address asking for your support of our Union Brothers and Sisters at the Rochester Police Department, as the City is proposing to take away their Due Process. A Rally has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 19th in front of Rochester City Hall beginning at 5:30pm. Locust Club President Mike Mazzeo and his officers have been very supportive of this Local and now is the time to step up in a show of solidarity for our Brothers and Sisters. We will need the support for our own contract negotiations in the near future.
Also, the Union is still waiting for the Company to respond to our information request of more than a month ago on the new performance plan. Last week the Company called in more than 20 Sales and Service techs to notify them that their performance needs immediate improvement. The Company says this is coaching and not discipline. We have notified all the stewards in this group of the current situation and will keep everyone advised as we work on this issue. At this point we have a negotiated plan in place that can’t be changed until a new one is negotiated.
An executive board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday of this week to address the important issues facing this Local.
This week our annual United Way workplace campaign kicks off. I want to thank all who have participated in the past in giving so generously. Our campaign has been a source of pride for this Local for many years and one of, if not the best, workplace campaign in this community. Thank You again for your support.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape the place where we’re Union and Proud of it.
