Tape Release 11/15/24
This week your Union Officers participated in the annual CWA District 1 meeting, along with other CWA local officers across NYS, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts to hear from our leaders on the state of our Union and matters important to workers. We met with our Brothers and sisters from Connecticut who are in negotiations with Frontier as well. We had an opportunity to share our concerns with CWA District 1 Vice President Dennis Trainor about challenges with Frontier and the unacceptable levels of contractors in our footprint. This week Frontier shareholders approved the sale of Frontier to Verizon. It is expected to take 12-18 months to get regulatory approvals on this transaction. CWA leaders are positive about working with Verizon for the benefit of our members. The Executive Board will be provided updates on Wednesday.
The Finance Committee of Mike Miceli, Don DePerna Jr. and Michelle Damiani have completed their audit and will present the 2024-2025 budget to the board and a Membership Meeting will be forthcoming as we contemplate a date for a strike authorization vote, as our contract expires December 14th with no negotiations scheduled to date.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape.
