Tape Release 8/6/24
Membership updates:
Bargaining update at Frontier:
On Friday the Union and the Company exchanged proposals. The Union rejected the Company’s proposals increasing Health Care Cost, Changing Retiree benefits, reducing the Bonus and modifying the contracting language. In response we have proposed that there be no contracting of bargaining unit work.
We also put forth an hour long presentation on the poor quality of contracting here in Rochester gathered by the members. We need you to continue to forward pictures to the Boss as well as a copy to the Union. Let’s keep up the pressure as we get closer to the contract expiration. Also, we’re mobilizing to get information from all drivers in regard to the age, mileage and condition of your vehicle, let’s get this done this week.
I have no updates on the Company permit to work on NYS highways, thanks in part to contractors violating work zone safety set ups. A reminder for all to make sure that our work safety zones are in compliance and that we follow all safety procedures.
There is nothing more important to the Union right now than negotiating a fair deal on your behalf. We need every member to step it up and support each other.
With that we’re asking all who can participate in the annual Labor Day parade to show up. We need a trailer to decorate that morning, please if you have a lead report it in to the Union Hall.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape and we are CWA Strong.
