Membership Updates:
Frontier and the Union have reached an agreement to extend the current contract set to expire this Saturday for another three months with a future expiration date of June 14th, 2025. The extension follows that of Connecticut CWA Local 1298 who reached an extension with Frontier until May 31st. The Union has been active in states with regulatory commissions that must hold hearings and take comments from parties on the proposed takeover of Frontier by Verizon. We have been actively working with a CWA attorney on the NYS proceeding. I want to thank everyone for their patience as this bargaining is approaching one year.
Also, the Company withheld the wrong dues amount from the bonus check payable yesterday. We will be working to get this corrected as the Company withheld 1.3% vs the 1.75%. We are also looking into why the Company withheld taxes for those who chose to defer their bonus into the 401K. This shouldn’t have taken place.
The Union is sponsoring the annual United Way leadership breakfast tomorrow. Thank you to all members for your continued support. It is a great testament to the character of you all that you contribute so generously to various programs that support a wide variety of issues meant to help so many people.
