Tape Release 2/24/26 Frontier Updates
Membership updates:
I can report that Verizon discussions are ongoing, and I hope to have more of an update shortly. Other events going on include a Labor training with five newer members scheduled for tomorrow, 11am-1pm at the Union hall. A stewards training has tentatively been scheduled for Saturday April 18th; we’ve had five member sign up so far.
I also received notification from the labor department at Frontier today that the Company has posted both internally and externally for 20 Sales and Service jobs to be filled. We have requested a meeting with the Company to discuss the Verizon PSC agreement which called for the elimination of FTTH contractors and the hiring of 20 full time bargaining unit positions.
And finally the United Way Committee is close to finalizing this year’s workplace campaign. In just a short period of time the membership has made pledges totaling over $54,000 dollars with still time to meet our goal of $60,000. Thank you to everyone who has so generously given this year.
