Tape Release 5/27/21
It is hard to believe that Memorial Day weekend is upon us and unofficially kicks off the summer season.
Memorial Day is a day that we honor the 1.1 million men and women who died while serving in the US Military. A little history, the deadliest battle in US armed forces history was the Battle of Argonne Forrest in France on the Western front during WWI. The Battle started on September 26, 1918 and lasted until October 26th leading to the armistice on November 11th and the end of WWI. The US military suffered 192,000 casualties and 26,000 deaths during the monthlong struggle. The Germans being outnumbered and outflanked surrendered and sued for peace.
The best way to show your support and respect is to attend a parade and service in your town or village, almost everyone has one. I’ll be attending ours in Avon and then participating in the chicken BBQ.
Also, I want to recognize Time Reporting Clerk Yana O’Brien. Yana is retiring with 47 years of service and her last day of work is Monday May 31st. On behalf of the Union, I want to thank Yana for her many years of membership.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape and We Are CWA Strong.
