Tape Release 3/18/2020
The company will be polling sales and service techs today for voluntary truck take home. The details and directives will be worked on as far as dispatch time, time to drive to the job, and time to leave the job. Network techs will follow for polling. The company is also in the process of looking at job classifications to work from home.
The joint management-union safety committee will be meeting to address various workplace issues associated with the covid-19 outbreak. As an individual, the best practice is to inform yourself on CDC guidelines. If you don’t feel safe in a certain environment, make sure you maintain communication with your supervisor and coworkers and discuss the situation.
The union hall will not be allowing visitors on a temporary basis. Please mail any payments that are due for dental and eye. Please understand the stress level is high for everyone and there are nurses, firefighters, and police officers, as well as many others who are working 16-hour days out there to deal with what’s going on. We will be working daily on your concerns as things are changing by the hour.
The governor signed legislation yesterday that will guarantee pay for up to two weeks for those that have to be quarantined, because we’re Union, we don’t have to rely on politicians to protect us, we’ve had a provision in our contract since 1948 that guarantees us pay when quarantined.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your union tape. And we are CWA Strong.
