Tape Release 6/6/19
Tape Release Thursday, June 6th, 2019
The Union would like to take a minute to thank all of the WWII Veterans out there for their sacrifice to this great country. Today is the 75th anniversary of D-Day, where 150,000 soldiers participated in the Normandy invasion of France and Thousands lost their lives. Today is a solemn day of remembrance for those who so courageously served. Thanks to all the Veterans who served in WWII and beyond.
A retiree announcement: The Annual Ray Kanis Picnic is next Wednesday, June 12th at Harris Whelan Park, 2126 Penfield Rd. across from Wegmans at noon. I hope to see everyone there.
This week was the first day of Arbitration hearing in the termination of Technician Jim Everts. The hearing never really got started as the Union attorney and Company attorney spent two hours arguing over evidence and who was going to pay for the court reporter. The Arbitrator ruled that the Company had to pay for the court reporter and the first day of hearing as they were the cause of the hearing being adjourned. A new date in September was chosen to resume the arbitration.
Beginning this Sunday, June 9th, every member will receive a 2% raise due to the two-year extension. That means we have 1 year left on our contract. It is every members’ responsibility to be engaged and participate in this Union as we prepare for upcoming negotiations.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape the place where were Union and proud of it.
