9/11/24 Update

Membership and retiree updates:

Today is a day to remember the three thousand Americans killed by 19 hijackers at the NYC World Trade Centers, a farm field in Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon in Washington, DC., the thousands of police officers, firefighters, first responders any many others who responded to help save lives on this day at the risk of their own.

Please take a personal moment of silence for those who lost their lives, the families who lives were changed and lets be grateful for the service of all involved who protect us, who respond to our crises, and treat us for our wounds both physical and emotional, pray for the living and the dead.

Frontier members and retirees have received letters this week from Principle financial group advising you that as a participant in the 401K lawsuit with Global Crossing that took place over 20 years ago, there are some funds that were not settled and you are entitled to a small portion that is remaining, these amounts are less than $100 for most of us.  The letter advises you to call the participant contact center at 1-800-547-7754 for information concerning your amount.  I have called this number, and they were of no help.  My understanding is either you create an online account or if you do nothing, you’ll be receiving a check in the mail for the amount settled. I myself am not going thru the process of creating an account.

I have no updates on the Verizon acquisition of Frontier, we have a scheduled meeting with Frontier labor negotiators later in the month and hopefully will have more information at that time.
