The collection in the workplace for our Veterans in need is reaching its end. We are making one last request to help out if you haven’t already done so. The items are set to be dropped off to the Teamsters next Thursday and delivered to the Veterans outreach center next Friday on Veterans day. Thank you to everyone who has helped out and for those of you who’ve helped organize your Co Workers.
Retirees stay patient, your annual retirement packages should be arriving in the mail shortly. The Retiree Benefit meetings are Thursday November 9th at 3441 W. Henrietta Rd. I would encourage all with questions to attend.
Local 1170 Lineman and Splicers are actively working three out of the four Fiber projects discussed with the Company over the last several Months. Fiber build outs are taking place in the Village of Scottsville, Westgate Plaza and College Town U of R, a project in the Monroe Ave. area is scheduled soon. Let’s put the Union stamp on these projects and do all we can to get some new customers.
CWA Local 1170 has endorsed Todd Baxter for Sheriff.. We usually don’t make such endorsements for County positions but the Sheriffs and other County employees in the Highway, Social services have gone without raises for years while County leaders have continued to take care of themselves, it’s time for a change.. I personally worked With Todd when he was Chief of Police in Greece, he treated are members fairly and we never had to deal with outside attorneys, while he was the Chief. We hope that you get out to vote and consider our endorsement.
Tomorrow night our first Euchre Tournament is being held at the Union Hall beginning at 5:30pm. Thanks to Steve Spector, Patti Roberts and Chris Cordes for your work on putting this together.
