Tape Release March 7, 2018
Tape Release Wednesday, March 7th, 2018
CWA Local 1170 stands in solidarity with our CWA Union Brothers and Sisters in West Virginia who are on strike at Frontier. Please wear your Union shirts tomorrow. It was reported that a scab hit one of the strikers with their motor vehicle sending our Brother to the hospital. It certainly seems like things are heating up. We have posted more information on our website.
At yesterday’s second step grievance meeting with Frontier the following issues were presented:
Improper transfers of three desk techs to Network tech.
Improper roll out of first quarter sales and service tech work schedule.
Overtime bypass for Paul Dibble.
Take the Lead unfairly closing out lead for Anthony NaDell.
A unilateral change to our Long-Term Disability Benefit.
We will notify the stewards and members involved once we receive the Company’s answers.
The Company has notified the Union that the annual Team performance bonus will be paid out on Monday March 12t in a separate check. Please review and let us know if you have any questions on your payout.
I’m saddened to announce the passing of retirees Edward Palmer and Belford Swarts.
Ed passed away on February 28th and the Burial was held this past Monday March 5th,
Belford Passed away on February 24th and a service is being held on March 31st at 11am, Church of the Ascension, 2 Riverside St. Rochester, NY.
Ed retired in 1996 as a Cable Splicer in Suburban with 32 years of service and Belford retired in 1985 as a PBX tech with 36 years of service.
They were both active Union members who remained involved with Union events long after their retirements.
Our Condolences go out to both families.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union Tape. Together United we cannot be defeated.
