Tape Release March 21, 2018
The Local is calling for a mandatory Unit meeting for all Sales and Service techs for Tuesday, March 27th, 5:00pm at the RIT Inn and Conference Center at 5257 W. Henrietta Rd. This will be a Union Activity Day for all Sales and Service techs.
On the agenda is discussion concerning recent developments as the Company has changed the practice of dispatching to the NID on all new high-speed internet installation orders. This language was negotiated as part of job security for our members and is a threat to the work that was negotiated. When we sign a contract, we expect the Company to honor it. We will be providing other updates as well.
The Local’s annual United Way Campaign is kicking off today and Thursday at the Plymouth/Fitzhugh location. The members and retirees of this Local have always given generously to support the Community Fund as well as many other donor designated causes. We thank you for your consideration and support of this year’s campaign.
Arrangements have been announced for Congresswomen Louise Slaughter.
Calling hours will be held this Wednesday from 2pm to 7pm and this Thursday from 4pm to 8pm at the Miller Funeral Home at 3225 S. Winton Rd.
The funeral service has been set for Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre at 11am this Friday.
We will miss Louise’s greatly. She was a champion for workers and all those in need of some assistance. Her Compassion for people was genuine, we will miss her quick wit and sense of humor. May she rest in peace.
I’m also saddened to announce the passing of retiree William Heffron on Wednesday, March 14th. Bill retired in 1993 as a Telecommunications Specialist with over 40 years of service. On behalf of the Union, I extend our condolences to Bill’s family and friends.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape, the place where were Union and proud of it.
