Tape Release April 27, 2018

Today workers are remembered across the country who have lost their lives in the performance of their jobs.  A worker’s memorial service is being held at Highland Park beginning at 5pm at 175 Highland Ave. Rochester, NY 14620.  A map of the location has been posted on our website.  Each year one of our own is remembered, former CWA Local 1170 Member Tom Luciano who was tragically shot and killed while working on March 28th, 1979.  Today we remember all of our CWA Brothers and Sisters who have died on the job in the past year as we continue to demand safe workplaces across the country.

Our 2018 United Way Campaign is coming to a close.  I’m proud to announce that the members, retirees, and office staff of Local 1170 have pledged more than $116,000 to this year’s campaign.  Again, thank you for your generous contributions.  Each year you give at levels that make you leaders in this community.  A special thanks to our Campaign coordinators Bill Netchke and Fritz Amrhein, as well as their dedicated team of work place solicitors Bill Peacock, Jarounda Gamble, Mark Semrau, Demiah Smith and Joe Rotolo.

This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape, the place where were Union and proud of it.
