Tape Release 7/15/24
The Union is saddened to announce the following passings.
Retiree Thomas Linehan passed away suddenly on Friday, July 12th at the age of 79. Tom retired in 2006 with 42 years of service and was a Sales and Service tech working out of Suburban at the time of his retirement.
The following arrangements have been announced:
A funeral Mass will take place at 10:30am this Saturday, July 20th at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road in Livonia.
Also, this weekend CWA Local 1170 member Chuck Becoats passed away suddenly at his home. Chuck was 59 years old and a Desk Tech for most of his career. No arrangements have been announced yet.
Both individuals were characters and quick to tell a story and share some laughs. Chuck coined the phrase “if they’re paying, I’m staying” which has often been recited by members of his work group.
On behalf of the Union we extend our sympathies to both the Linehans and Becoats.
