Membership Updates:
A reminder that Monday, September 2nd, 2024, is a Union Activity Day for the entire membership. I’m going to be blunt; the Union is asking you to give a couple of hours of your time to participate in the Labor Day Parade. We’ve taken hundreds of phone calls this year asking for help to get discounts restored on phone Bills, the Company’s not paying my disability benefits, I’m out on Workers Comp and not getting paid, My paycheck is wrong, along with all the other issues. Is it too much to ask for a couple hours of your time to celebrate the fact that we are the backbone of the American Labor movement and all the benefits that we enjoy because of the fight for workers’ rights. Right now, 17,000 CWA Brothers and Sisters are on Strike at AT&T. The largest active strike in America covering nine states. AT&T, who made 25 Billion dollars in 2023, has presented demands to do away with prescription drug coverage. You’ll only get drug coverage after you spend $6,600 in a year. Shame on AT&T and every other Corporation cutting benefits while recording record profits.
We have a fight with Frontier after 20 meetings we have virtually no agreements. The Company has made proposals which include big increases to your health insurance, the elimination of Retiree Health Insurance after this contract and age 65, changes to the bonus, contracting and many others and has offered us a 1% raise every 6 months. Get in the fight people.
