    Tape Release 6/30/23

Frontier Retiree updates: Finally 3 months after the checks were due,  who were issued stop payments by Frontier have finally been paid.  You can bet your bottom dollar that the CEO and other Senior executives received their bonuses on time.  We stuck with it and believe at this point every retiree has received payment.

This week I sent a letter to the Director of Labor asking to convene the Contract Work Committee to address the Sales and Service contracting as well as Construction work.

In one week we’ll be leaving for the CWA Convention in St. Louis, Missouri as the delegates to the convention will be voting for a new National President and Secretary Treasurer.  Chris Shelton, a friend to Local 1170, will be retiring after serving over a decade in office.  Running for National President is the current Secretary Treasurer Sarah Steffons, District Vice President Ed Mooney serving West Virginia and Pennsylvania, and Claude Cummings, District Vice President over Texas and surrounding states.  Rich Winter, Susan Phillips, and myself will be attending the convention on your behalf but we’re still deliberating who’s the best candidate for this Local.

Finally, we say goodbye and Happy Retirement to the following members whose last day of work was today.

Each one has served our Union well in one capacity or another, from executive board roles, stewards, mobilizers and just by being good members.  You will be missed!

I hope everyone has a safe holiday. I know the Company is looking for every technician who’s available to work this weekend.

This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape.
