Membership Updates:
Bargaining with Frontier is in a holding pattern as CWA works to address frontiers service issues and staffing levels in New York and Connecticut regulatory bodies. No bargaining meetings have been scheduled. We will be watching the Connecticut negotiations closely as their contract expires May 31st, ours is set to expire June 14th.
The Union is declaring Thursday May 1st as an official Union activity Day in order to support The Rochester Labor Council Rally commemorating International Workers Day and to resist the attacks on workers and Unions.
The Rochester Labor Council represents 50,000 union families from Corning to Rochester and Batavia to Geneva. We need to turn out thousands and join in solidarity with our Brothers and Sisters.
The Rally begins at 5pm at Austin Steward Plaza, which is located in downtown Rochester on the River near the federal building and will conclude at Parcel 5. We’re making the ask to turn out for those that can. Workers and Union rights are under attack, we better show up or were going to lose out.
We have an update on our Dental benefits administered by Health Economics Partners. They have initiated a systems upgrade in February which created issues with processing claims from your dentist. Angela and I met with the owner yesterday and the first backlog of claims was processed last week. We were promised that they are working on the backlog and would be caught up quickly. We appreciate your patience and hopefully things will be back on track soon. If you’re concerned about the status of a claim, please call in and ask for Angela, she will take your information and check on it for you.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape.
