On behalf of the executive board and officers we’d like to wish everyone a happy and safe new year. Every year comes with changes either additions to our families with new arrivals whether they be children and grandchildren or the passing of loved ones. I’m personally grateful to all the members and retirees for your continued support of the Union. Together we have built a strong one with good contracts to support a good standard of living, which many nonunion workers performing the same work don’t have.
The Union has been notified of the following passings in the past week.
Robert Alwardt passed on November 10th at the age of 90, he was a telecom specialist at the time of his retirement.
Glenn Turner Sr. passed on December 20th at the age of 85, Glenn retired in 1996 with 27 years of service. He was an active member in the Union serving as a steward, executive board member for the frame and switch unit and the father of Sales and Service tech Glenn Turner Jr.
Donald Saunders passed on December 24th at the age of 77. Don retired in 2001 with 35 years of service and was a cable splicer at the time of his retirement.
Dave Buss passed on December 29th at the age of 90. Dave retired in 1994 with 41 years of service and was a telecommunications specialist at the time of his retirement.
On behalf of the Union we extend our condolences to the family and friends on the passing of our Union Brothers.
