Tape Release 6/4/26

The Union has received notification from the Company that a new Workers Compensation policy and carrier have been put in place effective June 1st.  We are asking for a meeting to discuss changes, as it contains new procedures.  We are sending the policy and procedure out in a separate email.  Please review closely, as benefits may be held up if proper filing of claim doesn’t occur.  The changing of carriers will not affect existing claims.

Rich Winter, Chris Bold, and I travelled to Washington, DC this week to attend CWA’s annual presidents meeting and legislative political conference.  We lobbied representatives to support Union jobs and Strong Unions, eliminate tax breaks for offshoring and outsourcing jobs, provisions to offer unemployment benefits for striking workers, Protecting health care and lowering costs and protecting voting rights.  Also, receiving unanimous support from the body was a bill that all overtime would be double pay instead of time and one half.

Overall, it was a good trip as we met with CWA local officers across NYS and our leaders within the district.  We’ve been warmly accepted into the CWA family at Verizon, which will only help us in the future.

This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape.
