Membership Updates:

We’ve been notified that our brothers and sisters with Connecticut Local 1298 have a three year tentative agreement through October of 2027.  They have posted some of the details including their wage increases on their website, which you can google to review.

We will be conducting meetings with our CWA leadership this week to discuss our next steps.

Also, as you may have seen last week that I was interviewed by news investigator Berkeley  Brean from Channel 10.  Our former dental plan claims processor is being sue by several school districts for theft of funds.  We have very good reasons to believe that Health Economics has withdrawn more money from our account than they paid.  I have filed in state Supreme Court to gain access to our records to verify just what that amount is.  At this point we believe it is somewhere between twenty to thirty thousand dollars.  We are working with a law firm to pursue claims against Zac Weber and Health Economic Partners for any stolen monies   We expect this to take several months.  In the meantime, Angela and I are working with dental offices and plan participants to make sure we’re processing any unpaid claims prior to the conversion to Excellus on August 1st.

Also, there are spots remaining for the Retiree Breakfast on September 21st beginning at 9am, to be held at the Union Hall at 4061 W. Henrietta Rd.
