Tape Release 4/18/25
Happy Easter everyone!
A mobilizers meeting has been called for Next Tuesday, April 22nd at 5:00pm here at the Union Hall. An email notification has been sent to all mobilizers to discuss Frontier Negotiations and upcoming special events.
A Union Activity Day is being called for Thursday May 1st as we are inviting all members to attend a rally to support International Workers Day sponsored by the Rochester Labor Council. It is the local labor community’s goal to turn out thousands as Workers from all sectors have come under attack by executive orders out of Washington, DC and rolling back monumental worker protections that have been hard fought and won. A few examples:
- The elimination of Collective Bargaining and Union rights for all federal employees
- The firing of the General Council and Pro Union Board members of the National Labor Relations Board
- The defunding of Federal Mediation Conciliation Services – The mechanism to get Arbitrators to hear out cases
- The pausing of all infrastructure funds for Broadband buildout
- The defunding of the National Institute of Health and Safety Standards
- The elimination of jobs to support Social Security Services and Veterans to name just a few
Meeting time and place:
Thursday May 1st
Austin Steward Plaza, downtown Rochester
On the Genesee River behind the Wyndham Hotel
We will be marching across the River down Main St. to Parcel 5
Also, this week the Company advised us that they’re hiring 7 Union temp jobs in Sales and Service, hoping to have them on board by June 1st. If you have anyone interested please get their resumes into the Union Hall.
And finally, I’d like to recognize Desk Tech Don Miller. Don retired on April 11th with 28 years of service working his whole career as a Desk Tech. I don’t know if Don ever missed a Union meeting in his entire career. I’d like to thank Don for his dedicated membership and wish him and his wife a long healthy retirement.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape.
