Tape Release 7/7/23

Your officers Vice President Richard Winter, Treasurer Sue Phillips and I will be attending the CWA National Convention in St. Louis, Missouri beginning on Saturday, July 8th and returning Wednesday, July 12th.  This will prove to be a historical convention as National President Chris Shelton is retiring after more than 10 years in office and giving 40 plus years to the labor movement.  We thank President Shelton for all he’s done for this Local and wish him and his family good health in retirement.  He’s led the CWA in strikes against some of Americas Largest Corporations including AT&T Mobility, Verizon, Frontier, GE and many others.  Running for National office is current Secretary Treasurer Sara Steffons, National Vice President Ed Mooney from District 2-13 out of W.Va. and National Vice President Claude Cummings from District 4 the Texas and surrounding States.  Your Officers will be casting votes in favor of one candidate representing our 600 members within our Local.  Politics will be fierce and at the forefront of this convention, as any change is monumental to our great Union.

The tape will be updated as soon as a New President is named.
