There is a rumor in the field that the Company has notified the Union and declared a surplus in Sales and Service. There has been no official notification to the Union and no surplus declared. Comments were made at a meeting this week and twisted out in the field.
The Union was also notified that the Company would be reducing the 4-hour overtime tour to two hours beginning Monday. The 4-hour overtime assignment has been a condition of overtime administration for well over 40 years. The Company was immediately notified if they moved forward with the change that we would file a board charge and grievance. How about a business plan that invests in fiber to the home, with work performed by Local 1170 represented Union Labor, by people who’ve spent their entire careers dedicated to this Company and our customers!?
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union Tape. And we are CWA STRONG!
