Tape Release 7/21/2020
Membership updates:
The Union discussed the following operational issues with Larry Washbon today, following the transfers of 14 employees; 6 carrier techs, 4 cable splicers, and 4 air Pressure techs to perform demand trouble in sales and service this week.
The Company will be offering overtime to anyone that makes themselves available for the rest of the week Also in order to incent technicians to work next week the Company will be seeking volunteers for this upcoming Sunday.
For out of Town Work, the Company is polling for Sales and Service techs for July 27th-August 8th and will be offering 4 hours of overtime Monday thru Friday, along with *8 hours on Saturday to a possible 10.
The Covid 19 pandemic has had the consequence of employees not taking vacation or cancelling vacation, a looming issue to deal with is the amount of vacation employees have left to schedule vs the allotments. We discussed the following scenarios:
1) Being allowed to carry over vacation into next year.
2) Increasing percentage allotments to allow for more employees to be on vacation at the same time, this year
3) paying out employees for a certain amount of unused vacation, highly unlikely this will occur.
We’ve asked the Company to get back to us as soon as possible, in order to avoid issues with employees losing vacation at the end of the year.
Please call in with any questions.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape. And we are CWA STRONG.
