Tape Release 6/22/2020
The Union and the Company have agreed to extend the Work at Home program, which was negotiated to remain in place until June 26th unless social distancing mandates were to remain in place. Since NY State still has mandates in the workplace, the program will continue until further notice.
For those taking your trucks home, the Company is going to continue with that program as well until further notice.
Tomorrow is Primary and Election Day throughout the region.
The most important election is being held for the Congressional 27th district which represents all of Western NY and the Finger Lakes region outside of Monroe County. The Rochester Labor Council and the Local have both endorsed Democratic Candidate Nate McMurray. Nate lost this race last election to disgraced Republican Chris Collins who is going to prison after pleading guilty to insider stock trading. Nate has vowed to fight for Social Security, Medicare, and workers throughout our region. His Republican opponent is the son of a Billionaire and one of the richest families in the East. They own the Boston Bruins and were the only Hockey franchise to refuse to pay their employees during this pandemic. We have a chance to elect a great person in Nate McMurray to represent us in our region.
The Rochester Labor Council has also endorsed the following candidates:
Joe Morelle, Congressional District 25
Demond Meeks, NY State Assembly District 137
Harry Bronson, NY State Assembly District 138
Jamie Romeo, Monroe County Clerk
Meredith Vacca, Monroe County Court Judge
Please get out to Vote. It matters!
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape.
And we are CWA STRONG!
