Tape Release March 13, 2018
Strike update from West Virginia. This past week a scab was arrested by the West Virginia State Police for pulling a gun on a striker in Flatwoods, West Virginia. All scabs should be arrested for undermining workers and their families. Maybe we can build a wall to keep the scabs out. It sure brings back memories from 1996 and all the Frontier scabs at the highlander, especially the one who pulled his shot gun out on us. Who remembers that?
As of last update no talks are taking place. We are honoring the strike so no one should be doing any strike work.
Some questions have been raised regarding the payout of yesterday’s bonus. Some members received compensation in their check listed as premium. If you worked any overtime in 2017 you should’ve received some level of compensation. A Fair Labor Standards provision calls for this. We will be asking for more information in order to get greater clarification.
The Union’s Bylaw Committee is scheduled to meet again this week as they review our current Bylaws and work on recommendations to bring back to the membership.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape, United together we can never be defeated. Once again it pays to be Union.
