Tape Release Friday September 9, 2016
Sales and Service techs: The Union met with the Company last week to discuss the 100% commitment initiative that was rolled out two weeks ago and never presented to the Union. The Union has received confirmation from the Company that there is no discipline associated with this initiative.
Network Carrier Techs:
The Union met with the Company in response to our demand to negotiate over the movement of bargaining unit work. The Company disagrees with the Union, claiming the amount is very insignificant. Follow up discussions have yet to take place, as our National Union Reps were unavailable this week to continue discussions. Further discussions still need to take place.
CWA is organizing a National Day of Action on Wednesday, September 14th to fight back against TPP which is the largest trade agreement ever negotiated. This is another Nafta type agreement except 10 times larger and more damaging. Information will be mobilized via email, Facebook and our website to take action. Were simply asking you to call your congressperson and advise them to oppose the TPP.
This weekend will be the 15th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Centers. We must remember the 3,000 lives that perished on that day including our Brothers and Sisters from the Police, Fire, and first responders. Many of these heroic workers who responded on that day are still struggling as they battle all sorts of issues caused by the toxic smoke and dust inhaled during their rescue efforts. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Finally, Frontier received some terrible press in regards to our service to our customers this week. Your Union continues to advocate on your behalf every day to do the right things by our customers and you. Our service and disgruntled customer base is no reflection in regards to your skill, efforts, and professionalism that you demonstrate every day. Thank you to all for what you do to keep our Customers.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape the place where were Union and proud of it.
