Tape Release Friday, July 8th 2016
I would like to take a moment of silence for the 11 police officers, 5 who were killed, 6 injured in the line of Duty in Dallas, Texas. No words can express the gratitude, appreciation and emotions that we all feel for the officers, their families as they have paid the ultimate sacrifice in their duties to serve and protect. Our deepest condolences and prayers are with the families as well as all the other innocent victims of this senseless violence.
I have received new information about the Tel Flex payroll deduction issue and who it affected. Over the last two pay periods any member who had purchased the 60 or 70% LTD coverage had seen an improper reduction in the amount withheld from their weekly paycheck due to a software error. These deductions were approximately between $8 to $16 for each pay period. Beginning next week the deductions will be reinstated to prior amounts. The Company has indicated that they will be taking a one time deduction to account for the mistake prior to the end of the month.
The Company has notified us that they will be sending two Sales and Service techs to West Virginia to assist with the damage due to recent storms.
I’m saddened to announce the passing of retiree Charles Whaley. Charles retired in December of 1996 as a Switch tech with 33 years of service. Calling hours are today from 12 to 3 and 6 to 8 pm at the Falcone Family Funeral home, 8700 Lake Rd RT. 19 Leroy, NY. A remembrance service will be held on Saturday at 11am at the same location. On behalf of the Union, I would like to extend our condolences to Charlie’s family and Friends.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape the place where we’re Union and proud of it.
