Tape Release Monday, May 23rd, 2016

Membership Action and Updates:

I want to start off this morning by thanking you for your commitment to our customers and your Union.  Your efforts continue to be recognized by the customers as the best part of their experience with frontier.

Our Brothers and Sisters at Verizon begin their 40th day of being on strike today.  We will continue our support by picketing the Verizon Wireless store at 1150 Jefferson Rd. in Henrietta from 4-6:30 PM every Tuesday.  For all of our members with loud voices, please show up at the Picket to exercise your 1st amendment rights.

Congresswomen Louise Slaughter and 88 other signed onto a letter last week urging Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam to keep the jobs in the United States and continue negotiations to reach a fair and equitable settlement for the 39,000 strikers.  CWA representative travelled to the Philippines to visit the Call Centers that Verizon and others employ.  The workers make a $1.75 an hour, 5 times less than the minimum wage as well as no overtime.  The CWA reps were greeted by a Filipino swat team wearing black masks and carrying machine guns.  Working conditions must be really great…

Anthem is having issues processing EME claims.   Anyone who is having trouble, please contact the Union Hall so we can make sure that your benefits get paid.

The new United Way deductions will begin on June 2nd.

Flyers have gone out in the workplace in regards to our summer picnic at the Red Wings Game on Saturday, July 30th.  Information and sign-ups can be found by calling the Union Hall.

This is Your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape.  One Day Longer, One Day Stronger.
