Tape Release Wednesday, March 9, 2016
CWA Local 1170’s United Way Campaign is off to a great start, after just two days of solicitation from last week’s leadership breakfast and yesterday, we’ve raised $60,000.00 towards this year’s goal of $120,000.00. Solicitors will be in the workplace today and tomorrow and again over the next two weeks. Thank you to everyone for your generous support.
I have received confirmation that our annual team performance bonus will be paid out next week. The members will receive the guaranteed minimum payout of 4.5% as bonus metrics were not met. The Local’s leadership and membership remain committed as we have always been to providing our customers with the best possible service. We are listening to your concerns and bringing them forward to the Company in order to build support to help you in your jobs. We are working on objectives and action plans established in Federal Mediation with the Company to address our issues. We are in the beginning stages of building our Labor Management teams in which Union Leaders will participate. We welcome the opportunity to work with new Local and regional Frontier leadership to restore Rochester to Premier Levels. Further communication will take place as things continue to develop.
CWA Locals from across the state lobbied state officials yesterday in regards to telecommunications regulations. CWA’s issues are gaining momentum as the PSC is beginning to address and take feedback on the current state of telecom in NYS.
Sales and Service Tech Tom Walczak wanted to thank everyone who supported the spaghetti dinner fundraiser on his behalf. We wish Tom and all of our members who are fighting the good fight a speedy recovery.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union Tape the place where we value Families, Freedom, and Fairness.
