Tape Release Friday, February 5th 2016
This morning I would like to acknowledge the Retirement of Dennis Hogan, a Switch Tech at Genesee St. Dennis was hired on March 2nd 1967 and retires with nearly 49 years of service. On behalf of the Union, I want to thank Dennis for his years of membership and service to the Company. Dennis is currently fighting a very severe Illness and could use any prayers and well wishes from friends and co workers.
Now that the transfers in the Sales and Service title are complete, the Union will be working with the Company to fill the vacancies in the Network Tech positions and other titles. Now is the time to get your minimum requirements under your belt if you desire a transfer to a different classification. In the CBA recently negotiated, the Company will provide you 24 hours of training towards minimum requirements. You must take the initiative and request the training. In my opinion, there will be openings in various titles as members start to retire. If you have any questions, please call the Union Hall.
The Union is also planning for March, a stewards meeting on a Saturday morning, date to be determined. This will be a good opportunity for anyone interested in stepping up and becoming a steward to get some good information. Please contact your Unit Chair with interest.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape, the place where we value families, freedom and fairness.
