Tape Release Monday, June 29th 2015
I’m saddened to announce the passing of our Union Brother Ray Werner. Ray passed away Saturday after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 45. His easy going, good natured sense of humor made him a friend of many. Ray was hired in 1998 as a sales and service tech, and spent the last several years as a buildings power technician. He leaves behind his daughter Maureen and son Raymond Jr. On behalf of the Union, I want to extend our sympathies to Ray’s family and many friends. Ray was especially close with his Union brothers whom he worked with for many years at the Dewey Central office. They deserve special mention once again for their tremendous effort in putting together the spaghetti dinner on Ray’s behalf several weeks ago.
The following arrangements have been announced:
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 30th from 4-7pm at the Vay-Schleich & Meeson Funeral Home, at 1075 Long Pond Rd.
A public funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1st at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Private interment to follow. For any members attending the funeral service, please wear a Union or Company shirt.
A membership meeting is being called for Wednesday, July 8th in order to conduct a strike authorization vote against Frontier. We have had twenty bargaining sessions with very little progress on job security, wages, and benefits. Our current contract has been extended until July 16th. A meeting notice will be mailed to everyone with the times and location. This will be a Union Activity Day for the entire membership.
Your mobilizers will be contacting you with the activities for this week.
Stay United my Friends.
This is your Union President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape. The place where we fight for the respect you deserve. Up the Rebel!
