Tape Release Tuesday, September 9th, 2014
Today is Primary Day in New York State. Please get out and exercise your right to vote. CWA has endorsed the incumbent Governor Andrew Cuomo and his running mate for lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. Kathy Hochul is a Western New Yorker and a past congresswomen. In Congress she fought to protect Medicare and the privatization of Social Security. She is certainly someone we can stand behind.
At last weeks 40th commemorative luncheon, the retirees passed the can and raised $378 for the family of Daryl Pierson, the slain Rochester City Police officer, which the Retiree club matched and will be presenting the $756.00 donation to the Rochester Locust Club on the family’s behalf. The Union will be in the work place over the next several weeks collecting on behalf of the Pierson family as well. This brave young officer gave his life in protecting and serving this community and the least we all can do is make a small donation to help his surviving spouse and two children.
A Unit 4 meeting has been called for next Thursday, September 18th for nomination and election of unit officers. All members who work in Suburban are part of this unit. This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union Tape the place where we fight for the respect you deserve.
