Tape Release Friday, June 6th 2014
Today is the 70th Anniversary of D Day and the Normandy invasion. It goes without saying that it is a special day in America’s history. 150,000 allied troops were launched in the biggest amphibious invasion in history to begin the fight to defeat Adolph Hitler’s German Army. Over 9,000 soldiers were injured or killed on that day. For me personally it is important to recognize those courageous soldiers who participated, as my Grandfather was a WWII vet and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and it all started on D Day.
The Union and the Company have reached agreement to resolve the PBX polling grievance violation of two years ago. Part of the settlement includes the offering of AC/DC testing biannually with up to 16 hours to prepare in a classroom for the AC/DC testing. As scheduling is worked out the members will be updated.
Polling is also in process to backfill for Desk Tech Curt Carter who has resigned to accept another job opportunity. Polling will be closing next week. AC/DC testing is a prerequisite for the job.
Money for the July 19th Darien Lake Picnic sponsored by the Local has to be in by July 11th. You need to contact the Union Hall to get your discounted tickets for $20, which includes an all day pass, picnic, drinks and parking pass.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union Tape the Place where we fight for the respect you deserve.
