Tape Release Friday, November 8th, 2013
One of our own, Mike Chomik, a desk tech with 14 years of service is in need of our help. Mike, who is Chairman of Unit 2 Desk Techs, is fighting a life-threatening illness. As Mike always is, he’s optimistic and positive about his chances, but could use our support.
At last night’s Unit 5 meeting, the Sales & Service Techs raised $600.00 for Mike and his family, which I’m going to deliver to his house today. Thanks to all those Sales & Service Techs who stepped up. I ask that all of you help out and generously support the 50/50 raffle that is going on in the field. If your area hasn’t been approached, please call the hall or stop down and we will get you tickets.
We are planning a fall cleanup at his house on Sunday from 11am to 1pm. Bring your rakes, leaf blowers, and lawn bags. We will supply the coffee and donuts. We already have a small crew and any more volunteers would be welcome. Mike’s home address is 41 Burlwood Drive, which is near Long Pond and English Road.
The following Officers were elected last night to the Executive Board to represent Unit 5 Sales & Service Techs: Andy Cimino, Jeff Leshner, Mark Semrau, and Jason Heaney.
We reviewed the Company’s new performance plan, aka the force reduction plan, as it was presented to the Union. We know of 4 members who were targeted and have or are going to be brought in for the first step of discipline. Some things are apparent but not certain. The coaches and GM’s will have little or no discretion to waive discipline. The Company is doing little if any investigation into your work. This is strictly a numbers based system. As always, your Union will represent the members to the best of our ability. Help yourself out – keep daily logs and notes for each job as the Company is holding you accountable for everything. We will communicate with you as we get more information.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union Tape the place where we fight for the respect you deserve.
