Tape Release Friday, September 16th, 2013
The Company this week is beginning its September to Remember initiative that will take place over the next 2 weeks. The Union is supportive of any effort in order to get the backlog of service orders and trouble tickets to a level where the customers can except to be serviced in a reasonable time frame.
The Union provided input that additional support was needed along with removing some of the customer contacts that you’ve been requested to perform. While not all of our suggestions were taken, we believed the Company moved in a positive direction. Hopefully with the additional resources and changes, we will see movement in improved customer service.
The Union sees this as a work in progress, with full understanding that there are still process improvements to be made. Hopefully some of these minor changes will provide some relief to addressing some of your frustration to your workday to allow you to focus on the work at hand. Continue to use the same processes in place to refer your work back, not holding them to the end of the day. Based on your feedback, we will see where we stand after the 2 weeks. Please keep good notes on your tickets and refer any issues to the appropriate stewards.
I’m saddened to announce the passing of retiree Ernie McLaughlin. Ernie was a garage mechanic at the time of his retirement in 1986 with 21 years of service. The following arrangements have been made: Calling hours are today from 3-7pm at Kennans Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd. Funeral service is tomorrow at 11am at the same location. On behalf of the Union, I extend our sympathies to Ernie’s Family and Friends.
Clambake ticket money needs to be sent in this week. Please call the office by the end of the day to confirm if you’re attending or not.
This is your President, John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union Tape, the place where we fight for the respect you deserve.
