Membership Updates: An error occurred yesterday in the paychecks for those of you who give to the United Way. The Company withheld double deductions and is correcting this by reimbursing you next week in your paychecks. Please take a minute to verify your paystubs this week and next to make sure no further errors occur.
The Community’s annual fund drive for the United Way has been completed. Your Unions campaign led by Fritz Amrhein and Bill Netchke, along with our solicitor team, was a big success. This year, through the generosity of the membership and retirees, we raised $124,700.00. With all that has gone on with the Company the last couple of months, this is a great accomplishment. Door prize winners have been posted on the Union’s website. The members of Local 1170 are recognized every year by the United Way’s leadership for your tremendous giving to the annual campaign. It is a very proud legacy that the Local has been able to maintain. This year, members of organized labor gave over $5,000,000.00 back to the community to help those who need it most.
This week we continued to represent the members hearing grievances at second step with Frontier over the Coaching logs handed out to the sales and service techs and one technician has received an unjust verbal warning. We continue to advise you to contact your steward if you are called in to such a meeting.
Ray Kanis is sponsoring his annual Picnic for retirees at Perinton Park on Wednesday, June 12 at Noon. All retirees are welcome.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape the place where we fight for the respect you deserve.
