Tape Release: Friday, April 12th, 2013
Force Reduction Update:
As of this morning, the Union has received no further updates from the Company as to the number of volunteers who submitted paperwork to receive their severance. On Wednesday, six members submitted such a request.
Two members, who are on long-term disability, requested the paperwork to volunteer and were denied by the Company. The Company has taken the position that they are ineligible. The Union has expressed its disagreement with this position, as there is no provision in the Contract that states someone is ineligible to volunteer in a force reduction situation.
There will be a Steward/Mobilizer meeting on Monday, April 15th after work. Please do your best to get to the Union Hall between 4:30 and 5pm.
The Tape will be updated as we receive more information.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape, the place where we fight for the respect you deserve.
