Tape release Monday, September 10th 2012
Membership announcement - Your President is requesting Sales and Service techs who work the following offices: Lexington, Stone St., Genesee St., Field St., Erie, and Town Line Rd., as well as the Air Pressure group, to attend a meeting this Thursday at 6:30pm at Sunset Lanes, 1317 Chili Ave. near 390. On the agenda will be trucks by performance, appraisals, Hughes net installations and other issues that are important to you. This will be a Union Activity Day for these work groups. The meeting was set for 6:30pm, so there should be no excuses why you can’t attend because of your shift.
Updates from the field have come in over the past week as to the rollout of new Company vehicles and its implementation. We are aware that some of our most senior qualified technicians are being bypassed for the assignment of new vehicles, as junior employees, some of whom just received new vehicles within the last two years, are being given the new vehicles. It doesn’t make much sense, but if you’re forced into a new vehicle under the threat of discipline, you must do so. The Union recommends that you do so under protest.
The Union has requested to bargain over this unilateral change of trucks being assigned based on performance. We will also file grievances for those who have been treated unjustly.
For those of you who have been driving vehicles with safety issues, I would recommend that you get them serviced immediately. As the driver of your vehicle, you are responsible for your own safety.
The Annual Clambake is coming up on Sunday, September 23rd. Everyone was mailed tickets. Money and notification need to be in by a week from today. Please don’t wait until the last minute to get in on this good time.
Last but not least, I want everyone to take a minute to reflect on the terrible attack on this country that occurred 11 years ago tomorrow. Thousands of Americans lost their lives on this day including hundreds of firefighters, police officers and other first responders who rushed unselfishly into harms way. This year on this anniversary we can take some satisfaction that the mastermind of this horrific attack on our country Osama bin Laden got his justice and is no longer walking this earth to celebrate the injury that he thrust on this Nation.
This is your President John Pusloskie, thanking you for calling your Union tape and God Bless America.
