The Union’s annual United Way Campaign is kicking off today. We have a tradition going way back under past Presidents Robert Flavin and Linda McGrath of running one of the best campaigns in the area. We’ve had great coordinators in the past such as Richard Downey, Mary Jane Linehan, and Joann Dzwigal. This year’s campaign is being coordinated by Fritz Amrhein and Bill Netchke. We’re off to a great start as the leadership breakfast last week was a big success.
The Local will have its annual incentives to be drawn at the end of the campaign. One great new incentive this year is the opportunity to be in a drawing for a big screen TV. For every dollar that you increase your weekly contribution, you will get one chance in the drawing.
I want to thank each and every one of you for making a difference. Your contributions help people, even our own members and retirees in ways you don’t even realize.
Right now we have one of our own that needs our support. Sales and Service Tech Tony Alfano has had a stroke. Tony has been on the picket lines, attended meetings, and has been an active member in this Union. Cans are being passed in the workplace. Please help him out. On behalf of all, we wish him a speedy recovery.
This is your President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union tape, and Up The Rebel for Tony!
