I will be out of the office all morning attending a 2nd step grievance meeting at W. Hen. Rd, returning this afternoon. Please hold your calls until this time.

Pearls of wisdom for the day:

  • To say well is good, to do well is better
  • He who has to deal with a blockhead, has need of much brains
  • He who rides behind another, does not saddle when he pleases
  • He that will not look before him, will have to look behind him
  • And last but not least, cover your ass and your nose because it’s going to be cold!

For all the divorced men out there, who are either too ugly or grumpy to find a companion, I have found some friends for you.  I know where there are 11 black lab puppies for sale that would make nice friends.  They will be available around Valentine’s Day.  Please contact Marge or Angela for the contact info.  (Labs – Mary 226-9068)

I will be out of the office for most of the week bargaining with the Democrat and Chronicle on Monday and Tuesday, 2nd step grievance meeting with Frontier on Wednesday morning, and a meeting with Caldwell Manufacturing on Thursday morning.

If you have issues that need to be immediately addressed, please contact your Vice President Rick Sanchez or your Secretary Marie Spendlove.

At the Unit 6 meeting last night, Tim Wallace was nominated and elected Chairman.  Bob Glynn and Gerry Ingerick were nominated for Vice Chairman.  There will be a secret ballot election and those who attended the meeting will be sent a ballot.  It was a great turnout for the meeting, especially from the Line guys.

It’s Day 69 that the Union and the Company have been negotiating without a contract in PA.  There are very serious issues that the Company wants the Union to concede on.  They want to freeze their pension, raise their healthcare premiums, contract out their work, pay for performance, uniforms, and a grooming policy, to name a few.  We will have our work cut out as it is certain that they will want the same from us.  We need to remain united and strong.
