A brand new year, the old one done.

Another chance for everyone.

New hopes-new dreams are ours once more.

The past becomes a closing door.

We face ahead with our heads held high.

New courage comes as days swing by.

A brand new year, the old one done.

Another chance for everyone.

Happy & Safe New Year’s Members, and thank you for the past 33 years serving you and please stay United.

Your President

Linda McGrath

The Company called me this morning and reviewed the current trouble volumes for today.  There are 91 techs available to work 774 jobs.  There are 8 major cable outages that are being worked on.  4 in Norton, 1 each in Dewey, Long Pond, Merchants, and Victor.  Because of the service issues, the Company has mandated all Sales and Service Techs to work 4 hrs tonight and will have early starts at 6am tomorrow.  The Company has gone to the extended pecking order, which is the following:  Stakeout, Air Pressure, Coin, Cable Splicer, Line/Splicers, and Network Techs.

The Company hasn’t advised me that there will be mandatory OT on New Year’s Eve as one coach is suggesting, but I have spoken to Tom Fitzgerald and the Company will be assessing its situation tomorrow.

This is your Vice President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union Tape, the place where we always tell the awful truth.

I have just spoken with Michael Johns about the extreme weather conditions and your safety.  The Company is making arrangements to get everyone off the road.  A broadcast voicemail is going out to all Sales and Service Techs to close up what you’re working on and get your trucks back to your garage safely.

There’s a 911 Circuit and DL down, which Carrier Techs are working on.  All others will be called in shortly.

Please work safe, drive safe, and get home safely.

This is your Vice President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your Union Tape.

On behalf of the Union, I want to thank each and every one for being a member.  Their total service equates to 262 years on the job.  Experienced dedicated employees are hard to replace and for some I’m sure it’s a bitter sweet decision to leave something they love to do.

The Take the Lead Bonus will be paid on December 31st.  The payout is 1.15% of base payroll for the year divided equally among the members.

I will update the tape when I know the payout.  CWA members generated almost 1.4 million dollars in new revenue, a tremendous effort and credit to you all.

The Unit 4 Suburban meeting is still on for 5:30pm at the Harrison Lee post in Livonia.  This is a Union Activity Day for all Unit 4 members.

This is your Vice President John Pusloskie thanking you for calling your union tape, the place where we are union and proud of it.
